I bought it as a daily, I put 1000 miles a week and even with over 164000 it runs strong. The xenon lights and the A/C are the best features of this vehicle. Mine was a SE and has been solid since I got it.

Bought it as a first car for my 16 year old daughter. She uses it to go to school and work, and so far, so good! Worth the money. It did need snow tires, but I need them for my car as well. It drives pretty well in the snow with the new tires. Definitely a good purchase!

Seemed like a nice car, always had good luck with Nissans before. 5 speed autos are junk from 04 to 06 which i didn't learn till i got it home from the dealership. Which wont do anything about it. A $1500 dollar roughly fix.

Got it as a first car to my son. It is far from being a new car, but It has all he needs. It is all electric. Has a sun roof. A great sound system. It offers a nice ride. Most important, so far it runs great.

2nd 3.0L Maxima I have bought. I now have a 99 and a 95 with over 200k on them. Both were 1 owner and no damage. CarFax was a big help in me buying both vehicles for my kids. The 3.0L Maxima is a very well made car. Just look around and you will see how many of them are still on the road.

Nissan cars are very reliable especially maxima. I had this car over 12 years and very accountable features, such as child lock, air bags, spacious trunk and many more.

Some minor issues arose after car inspection but nothing major. The car is pretty decent considering what we paid for it. Seems to have been well maintained. It has a lot of after market parts, lights, etc so my son is happy.

It was my first car I ever bought in 2011 right out of high school. I didn't know much about buying cars obviously since it was my first, and I had no idea that the guy I had bought it from was a dirty scum just out to rob an 18 year old kid. I bought it with the odometer reading saying 100,000 miles on it and I drove it for over 2 & 1/2 years. During that time I replaced both CV Axles, 2 motor mounts, both tie rods, new tires because the car was out of alignment, power steering hoses, all belts, idler pulley, and dampener pulley. DON'T LET THIS SCARE YOU AWAY FROM THIS CAR!! Here is the reason I had the many problems, I Finally heard about the beauty of car fax, car faxed my car and saw the terror this car had been put through. Accident the first year of its life, 6 owners with the one bogus owner who I bought it from makes 7, then me 8. The bogus owner I bought it from owned it for 9 days..yes I said 9 days and he had reset the odometer during that time. The last odometer reading has said over 277,000 miles and I had put on another 50,000+. This car had over 300,000 miles and still ran like a champ!! No engine problems, no transmission problems, just the normal wear and tear on a 300,000+ car! I am amazed, and I would buy another one again in a heart beat! (With a car fax review first of course.) So my advice to future buyers, always car fax so you know what the history of the car is, buy a maxima because they will never let you down, and don't jip some poor kid just so you can get an extra buck.

Used Nissan Maxima Information

The Nissan Maxima is a full-size, four-door car with more room and power than a traditional sedan. If you require more head and leg room, or if you just prefer your vehicle to have a more spacious interior, the Nissan Maxima is sure to satisfy.

The Maxima was derived from Datsun 810 and Nissan Bluebird model vehicles built during the 1970'’s. However, 1981 marked the first model year to use the Maxima moniker. Nissan made it available as a four-door sedan or station wagon and housed a six-cylinder engine under the hood. A fun piece of trivia about the Nissan Maxima'—it was the first car in America that "talked" to you. Through an automated warning system, drivers would hear that the "door is open" or "please turn off the lights." Was this the inspiration for the Night Rider TV show?

Second generation vehicles ranged from model years 1984 through 1988. These models still included a choice between sedan and wagon, plus they provided amenities that significantly improved comfort for drivers and passengers. Power windows and locks became standard at this time. As options, you could add heated front seats and a technology package that featured digital instrumentation on the dashboard.

Starting in model year 1988, the third generation of >Nissan Maxima cars was available. While they were smaller and only available as sedans, they had increased safety features'—including airbags on the driver'’s side of the vehicle. The horsepower saw a significant increase with buyers able to choose between 160 hp and 190 hp engines. These were a big jump from the second generation which topped out at 157 hp.

By the mid 1990'’s, fourth generation Nissan Maxima'’s were being sold in record numbers and competing with the likes of Toyota Camry. It was then that more drivers started opting for the automatic transmission. At no cost, the decision to go automatic was easy.

Once the fifth generation came along in 1999, overall updates became less noticeable as Nissan continuously improved the Maxima year to year. Technically, the sixth generation appeared in 2004, and the seventh in 2009.

The newest Nissan Maxima vehicles have impeccable style and character, both inside and out. It is common to find used Maxima'’s with xenon headlights, chrome alloy wheels, and a sleek overall body. The Maxima not only looks good, it can hit 60 mph in less than six seconds. If you like driving a vehicle that'’s comfortable, stylish and can really perform, you must consider the Nissan Maxima.

Carfax currently has 3,265 used Nissan Maximas, 84% with no previously reported accidents. At the moment the average price is $28,318, while 90% have service records and 66% have had only one previous owner. You’ll also be able to find plenty of vehicles with Leather Seats, Handsfree/Bluetooth Integration and Power Sun/Moonroof.
