Used Lexus Information
Lexus, the luxury division of Toyota, was founded in 1989 for sales in the North American market and has since gone global, being sold in over 70 countries worldwide. The brand sells luxury sedans, coupes, convertibles and crossover/SUV models and has its own performance marque, F (often added to cars as "F-Sport"). All Lexus vehicles, with the exception of the RX line, are built in Japan. The RX is built in Canada.
Production models in the Lexus lineup are given alphanumeric names using two letters for vehicle rank and type and three digits to denote engine displacement times 100. Vehicles in the Lexus line are built to exacting requirements, with design emphasizing about 500 specific product standards called "Lexus Musts" which include everything from leather stitching to transmission shifting speeds.
The used luxury car market often sees Lexus vehicles, which share Toyota's reputation for long-lasting durability and quality. Because of their status and original sticker price, most used Lexus vehicles are generally in good shape in comparison to other vehicles in the non-luxury used market.
Buyers can expect to find IS sedan models in the rear-wheel and all-wheel drive ranging from the 2000 IS200 and IS300 to the newest IS350 models. Many ES and GS midsize models are also on the used market as are LS full-sized options. The RX and LX series of crossovers and SUVs are also highly-prized finds on the used car market.
Most sought-after of all, though, is the near-exclusive Lexus LFA sports car, produced in limited numbers for only one year.
