Used Honda Fit Information
This funky hatchback is entering its 8th year of production with a new 2015 edition that boasts streamlined styling while retaining its flexible interior configurations. Used or new, the Fit remains a small car with an incredible amount of storage.
The Honda Fit is a top favorite of economy car shoppers thanks to its unique interior configurations utilizing the nearly 53 cubic feet of space. The main reason is the Fitâs âMagicâ seat design. This allows the owner to fold completely flat or flip its seat bottom up. With the âMagicâ seat, you can configure the car to hold everything from more passengers like 6 foot adults to mountain bikes in a quick manner.
Also appealing to used Honda Fit shoppers is the fuel economy. EPA estimates range from 29/37 city, highway for a manual transmission to 32/38 city/highway for the continuously variable transmission (CVT) models. These figures are slightly less for older models thanks to the 2015âs new direct injection added to the engine.
The Honda Fit is powered by a 1.5-L 4-cylinder engine putting out 130 HP and 114 lbs-ft of torque. This engine is mated to new for 2015 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT transmission.
It comes in several trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L and EX-L with Navi trim levels. Some of these trims levels are only available in 2015 models as part of the new technology offerings. The standard LX and EX trim levels are available for all car model years with slightly different interior styling and materials being the main difference.
For safety, the Honda Fit received a top score of âGoodâ in many Insurance Institute for Highway Safety tests. However, the small-overlap frontal-offset test, the Fit scored a âmarginal.â Honda subsequently redesigned the front bumper to improve to âacceptable.â After developing the new bumper, Honda says it will retrofit used Fit models with the improved bumper.
Used car shoppers will find the previous generation will have many of the same features as the newly redesigned 2015 models. The new improvements focus on slightly improved fuel economy, more interior space and new technology and safety features. Also, the Fit has new styling on the grille, LED taillights and available 16-inch wheels.
