1999 BMW M3
This was purchased as a show/pleasure car. Absolutely fantastic example of the early M. This car is particularly underrated due to the drastic design change from e30 to e36 and the mass quantities it was produced in. Don't let that fool you. There are excellent examples out there to be found and many because of a lower price are being misused and discarded, deindling the numbers. This is a straight 6 5speed that feels and sound every bit M that you'd expect. The handling is superb and you will think it is much more powerful than it actually is. At 240hp the car is darting and explosive. inexpensive to maintain and ready for a track with a light amount of proper upgrades. Did I mention the engine is fantastic? I've driven in these above 200,000 miles and when properly maintained they are every bit as much fun.

This is the ultimate driving machine for a reason! Also the reason I've owned more than one. I wouldn't hesitate to suggest this car to any motoring enthusiast, but be weary, the only type you want to buy is the excellent condition one. These cars do not cope well with sub average care, if the previous owner took care of it well by car standards, it is still questionable. You want to find one someone treated like there first born. Hard to find these days.

1997 BMW M3
I was looking for an un-modified performance car with 4 doors and manual transmission. The 6 cylinder BMW engine has been around for quite a while and has a good reputation for reliability. I use the car as a daily driver. The car is comfortable, brakes are great, steering is precise and power at all speeds. I did not purchase the cheapest one available. The car was, in my opinion, near perfect. I am very pleased with the purchase.

I have wanted an M3 since I was a kid. Grew up with 2002 & e30 325i and always wanted to own a BMW for myself. I finally went for it and found a decent low miles sort of unmolested 97 M3 coupe. It wasn't perfect but it's not my daily & it's going to be a weekend toy. I knew going in that it would need work to get it to a condition I would be comfortable taking it from SF to LA. I had a BMW shop run an inspection they said it had leaky steering rack other than that minor stuff to fix. Compression was good so I am happy. It's an old car at this point you basically get what you pay for. If you do some research plenty of online check lists and YouTube videos to do decent pre purchase inspection. Check for cracked shock towers bam!

I bought the E46 M3 because it's a classic car.
I use the car for pleasure or on the weekends.
I have a 2005 M3 Competition Package (Interlargos blue).
This was a hard car to come by, but patience will pay off. Probably the best car I've had. You all need to own a E46 M3 at least once in this lifetime, this was my dream car since I was 13 years old and finally got my hands on one.
