2014 HONDA PILOT
So far, just shy of a month, and a road trip later, we are happy with the Pilot - Touring. Only complaints so far: Would like some climate controls on the steering wheel (vs leaning over); The GPS needs some work. It does not do a good job of finding common businesses by name (e.g. Sam's Club, Costco), nor, in some instances it seems, is it aware of the car's location in presenting results sorted by nearest; Using voice command through the menu is v e r y s l o w, as you have to click for voice input each step along the way. The GPS' traffic information (color scheme) is too dull or too small to see. We have a Garmin GPS that takes voice command, shows traffic clearly, and we are, perhaps, spoiled by it; We had to change a flat and found that the lift itself needs to be redesigned, as each twist to turn it up is too shallow, further exacerbated by the mechanism for fitting the handle into is too close to the ground as to allow only half turns instead of a full revolution - took about 20-30 minutes of half twists to get car high enough to take off the flat tire.
Many things to like on the Touring...media controls for front and back, allowing DVD control for back (headphones) and radio up front; extra large center console with a draw cover - lots of storage and hides the mess; mini-wide angle mirror (on sunglasses holder) to see all occupants; driver settings include the side mirrors, not just the seats; an actual two pronged power plug outlet, in addition to several regular power sockets; cup holders even for the third row; the GPS has a very easy zoom feature to get the big picture and go back to street view, and has a nice countdown to coming turns; and many more "little things" they got right
