2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Information
The 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a midsize SUV that is offered in four trim levels: Laredo, Limited, SRT8 and Overland. Three sub-trim packages are available for the Laredo: E, X, and Trailhawk. In addition, the Overland trim has an optional Summit sub-trim level.
The 2013 Grand Cherokee comes standard with rear-wheel drive and a 3.6-liter V6 engine thatâs mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. This engine produces 290 horsepower. Four-wheel drive is optional with one of three systems: Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II. All Grand Cherokee trims except the SRT8 have a 5.7-liter V8 engine option as an upgrade, which produces 360 horsepower. Finally, the SRT8 model includes a 6.4-liter V8 and five-speed automatic transmission with four-wheel drive as standard. This engine produces 470 horsepower. When properly equipped, the Grand Cherokee can tow up to 7,400 pounds.
The base Grand Cherokee is rated at 19 mpg combined, with 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. Models with the 5.7-liter V8 are rated at 15 mpg combined (13/20 mpg city/highway). The Grand Cherokee SRT8 is rated at 14 mpg combined, with 12 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.
The five-seat 2013 Grand Cherokee has 35 cubic feet of cargo space, which expands to 69 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded. Standard equipment includes automatic headlights, fog lamps, dual-zone air conditioning and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Optional equipment of note includes premium audio systems, a rearview camera, bi-xenon headlamps, parking sensors, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, heated front and rear seating, adaptive cruise control, and safety options such as forward collision warning. The SRT trim has an adaptive suspension, performance-tuned steering, Brembo brakes and a limited-slip rear differential.
