2013 Ford Escape Information
The 2013 Ford Escape is a compact SUV that was completely redesigned for the 2013 model year. It is available in four trim levels: S, SE, SEL, and Titanium with three engine options, depending on trim level chosen.
The base S trim includes a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 168 horsepower. A six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive are standard. The SE and SEL trims include a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 178 horsepower. The SE and SEL trims have the option of upgrading to a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which is standard on the Titanium trim. This engine produces 240 horsepower. The Escape is capable of towing up to 3,500 pounds when properly equipped. The SE, SEL, and Titanium trims have all-wheel drive (AWD) as an option.
The S trim with its 2.5-liter engine is EPA rated at 25 mpg combined, with 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. Escape models with the 1.6-liter engine receive EPA ratings of 23 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The turbocharged 2.0-liter Escape is EPA rated at 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway (25 mpg combined).
The 2013 Escape seats five adults with 34.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. Folding the back seat increases cargo space to 68.1 cubic feet. Standard equipment includes integrated blind spot mirrors, MyKey parental controls and a six-speaker sound system with auxiliary jack.
Options include infotainment with the MyFord Touch system, a keyless entry keypad on the door pillar, reclining rear seating, a panoramic sunroof, a power liftgate, upgraded audio systems and remote start.
