The LX 470 is the most technically-sound and reliable SUV/vehicle on the road. I've owned two models and will eventually upgrade to the LX 570. I've seen reviews complaining of poor gas mileage or the underpowered engine by comparison. 1. This vehicle is full-time 4WD (if you’re concerned with saving money on gas, perhaps you should purchase a Prius) 2. This has to be the most-capable vehicle off-road (let’s not forget the Landcruiser’s lineage). 3. Comparative SUVs with extra horsepower and “bling” focus on the cosmetic appeal of owning a vehicle of this caliber. I’ve owned LXs for nearly 15 years and I’ve never been stranded or dealt with unscheduled mechanical issues. My vehicle is serviced according to the manufacturer’s recommendation and she drives as if new. My friends with Mercedes GLK and Range Rover often compliment me on the ride quality of the LX—“very smooth.” This is one of the best investments I ever made and I wouldn’t dream of owning a different SUV. My current vehicle has over 100,000 miles and it’s still worth over $20,000. Please check the resale value for comparative SUVs if you require further justification. I recommend this vehicle to anyone undecided on the perks of owning an LX.
