2006 FORD EXPLORER
I bought it because it is roomy has a lot of space I can fit what I want in the suv. It has a navigation system, alarm, Bluetooth and iPod connection in it. Which is very convenient for me. It is a great Suv!
2006 FORD EXPLORER
Bought as a vehicle for my son who goes to school in Buffalo and needs good AWD/4WD in snow as well as space to move back and forth from year to year. I'm a Ford truck guy anyway and have had Ford vans, SUVs for years. No surprises here with truck-like ride, a bit better than 1st Gen chassis because of independent rear end, fair performance from the 4.0 L V-6 (a bit better than stock with a free flow exhaust and K&N air filter). Had 100k miles on it when we got it, but in very, very good shape and was well cared for. Of course the Carfax helped us with deciding on this particular one, we looked at three others. Some little issues due to wear and tear, radio display is out (something I've seen is an issue with these), latch spring broken on center console lid, one light out behind climate control panel, nothing major. Drives and handles well for this truck-based 2nd Gen platform. Of course newer, 3rd Gen chassis models ride better, a bit more car-like, but this was a nice riding and driving truck for it's time. We got an excellent deal on this and it's still a beauty at ten years old, Dark Pearl Blue Metallic over Champagne Gold Eddie Bauer trim line. Only gets 4 stars because of age and comparing to current Gen SUV's. Still and all, I'm confident that this will last my son through the next 3 or 4 years in Buffalo and maybe beyond. Definitely recommended as a used vehicle, but shop carefully and get the Carfax history.
