Measures taken from the dummy indicate that rib fractures plus a fracture of the pelvis would be likely in a crash of this severity. Serious neck injuries also would be possible. In addition, loading to the shoulder was excessive.

If a manufacturer offering optional side airbags requests the Institute to conduct an additional test of a vehicle with this option and agrees to reimburse the cost of the vehicle, a second test is conducted. DaimlerChrysler did not request such a test.</p>

Description:
|
On certain passenger vehicles, the fuel return line hose fitting on the electric fuel pump may be restricted, causing excessive fuel pressure to build up in the fuel injection system. Excessive fuel pressure may result in a leak in the fuel return hose. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire. Dealers will inspect the fuel pump pressure. Those vehicles exhibiting higher than normal fuel pump pressure will receive fuel pump modifications. Owner notification began on December 15, 2003. Owners should contact DaimlerChrysler at 1-800-992-1997.

Unlike most convertibles, the Sebring offers a roomy, comfortable interior. It's stylish and fun, but won't break the bank. If it does, drop the top and whisk those cars away. |
