Important: Frontal crash test ratings can be compared only among vehicles of similar weight. <p>The Dodge Intrepid and the Chrysler Concorde LX/LXi were redesigned for the 1998 model year and modified beginning with 2000 models to change airbag deployment characteristics.</p> Dummy movement wasn't well controlled. There was too much upward movement of the steering wheel, which contributed to the dummy's head hitting the steering wheel through the airbag. During rebound, the dummy moved toward the driver door, and its head approached the window sill. Measures taken from the head, neck, and chest indicate low risk of injuries to these body regions in a crash of this severity. Forces on both tibias indicate that injuries to the lower legs would be possible. Description: Vehicle Description: Non-ABS equipped passenger vehicles. The brake master cylinder piston retainer snap ring may have been bent inward during the assembly process. The master cylinder piston may be in a ""brake applied"" position due to the damaged piston retainer snap ring. When the piston is in the applied position, the fluid compensation ports are closed which results in a brake drag condition. If the brake overheat, brake fading could lead to an increase in needed stopping distance. Should a driver not anticipate the extra stopping distance, this condition could cause a crash. Dealers will replace the brake master cylinder.

Description: Vehicle Description: Certain passenger vehicles, pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS No. 225, ""Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."" Some of the owner's manuals for these vehicles are missing instructions that provide a step-by-step procedure, including diagrams, for properly attaching a child restraint system's tether strap to the tether anchorage. In the event of a crash, the child seat may not be properly attached increasing the risk of injury to the child. Owners will be provided with an addendum to the owner's manuals.

Description: Vehicle Description: Certain passenger vehicles (non-sunroof only) fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 201, ""Occupant Protection in Interior Impact."" In the event of a crash, there is a potential for injury if the occupant's head were to contact the B-pillar. Owners will be sent a storage bin accessory unit that can be attached to the B-pillar along with installation instructions. However, if an owner wishes, the dealer can perform the installation. Owner notification began December 17, 2001. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact DaimlerChrysler at 1-800-853-1403.

With its powerful engine and stiff body structure, the Dodge Intrepid offers excellent handling and acceleration. It's smooth and quiet, until you stomp on the throttle. At the same time, there's plenty of room for passengers and cargo.

Overview:

The Dodge Intrepid is a good car for driving enthusiasts who want a big domestic sedan. It handles well and has lots of power.

The Intrepid is the sportiest of a range of full-size sedans from DaimlerChrysler. It complements the longer and more conservative Chrysler Concorde, the shorter, more European-looking Chrysler 300M and the big, luxurious Chrysler LHS. The Intrepid actually.
