The Nissan Rogue has been re-designed for 2014 with sleeker lines, a wider wheelbase, and better aerodynamics to help increase fuel efficiency. Its optional fold-down third row can create up to 18 storage variations so you can store your stuff in a snap. It has slightly less rear cargo than in 2013. The Rogue S features LED Daytime running lights, Bluetooth hands-free phone system, a backup camera, and advanced drive-assist display. The S trim also features a 70 cubic foot capacity and the divide-n-hide cargo system that allows you to adjust the floor of your rear space to hide valuables and other cargo for the ultimate in privacy.
The SV trim features all of the S amenities plus 17-inch alloy wheels, the Nissan Intelligent Key with push button ignition, dual zone automatic temperature control, and a 6-way power driver’s seat.
The SL trim includes the same SV features but includes 18-inch alloy wheels instead of 17-inch. It also includes the Nissan Navigation System and leather appointed seats. Nissan's Around View Monitor uses cameras in the rear, side, and front mirrors to build a composite overhead image of your Rogue and its immediate surroundings to help with parking and avoid hitting pedestrians. The NissanConnect with navigation system gives you hand-free phone and texting capabilities, audio streaming, and navigation on a 7-inch full-color screen.
Some added amenities include zero-gravity, quick-comfort heated front seats. "Zero gravity" seating is inspired by NASA seating technology to improve comfort and reduce fatigue. The heated front seats emulate your body’s natural heating system by heating in increments instead of all at once, ensuring extra coziness on top of comfort. An EZ Flex seating arrangement is an optional third row that increases your passenger capacity to 7. The row of seats can either fold flat for cargo space or be accessed by simply sliding and titling the 2nd row forward. The EZ Flex is only available for either for the S or SV.
Standard safety features include air conditioning, power windows, illuminated entry, remote keyless entry, AM/FM radio with CD play and an MP3 decoder, steering wheel mounted audio controls, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, 4 speakers, and a max seating capacity of 5 (or 7 with the optional EZ Flex 3rd row).
SAFETY FEATURES AND RATING
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rated the 2013 Rogue as “Good” in moderate overlap front, side crash, and head restrains & seats.
The Rogue comes with several available features like a tire pressure monitoring system that comes with the Easy-Fill Tire Alert. This feature lets you know when your tires need air but also lets you know when a tire is filled to the correct pressure by issuing a quick, friendly beep. Forward collision, blind spot, and lane departure warnings use the Rogue’s sensors to let you know if there is danger around you. Plus the Moving Object Detection system uses the Around View cameras to let you know if there are moving objects around you which will come in handy pulling out of tight parking spots.
Standard safety features include brake assist, dual front, occupant sensing, dual front impact, and overhead airbags, ignition disable, electronic stability and traction control, anti-whiplash front head restraints, a panic alarm, and a security system.
