Nissan Frontier

For many decades, the look and style of a pickup typically reflected a driver's rugged individualism, which is why the Nissan Frontier is so aptly named. If you don't need the towing power or capacity of a full-sized pickup, but want a rugged-looking vehicle, the Nissan Frontier is a popular choice. It gets good gas mileage and can be found used with an extended cab, a four-wheel drive version, and with an optional V6. You can start your search at Carfax.com by filtering for attributes that many people value, such as 1-owner or accident free status.

USED NISSAN FRONTIER REVIEWS

2010 Nissan Frontier
I recently bid fair well to my '98 F 150 and was looking for something reliable and cheaper to run. I liked the reliability and low maintenance of Nissan Quest we had , so I gave Nissan a chance. Glad I did. 6 cylinder 2 wheel drive - good mileage even at altitude.

MODEL OVERVIEW

The Nissan Frontier can serve as a small work truck or versatile vehicle for personal use. It is rugged enough to go off road. First released in the United States in 1997, the Frontier still sells well today, and many previously owned models are available with either a 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder engine. The 2013 Nissan Frontier offers a 2.5-liter inline 4 cylciner or a 4.0-liter V6. The last time the truck received a major redesign was in 2005, when it got bigger and stronger with more robust engine choices. Note that front side airbags, side curtain airbags and stability control were only optional prior to 2010, so if safety is important to you, check to see that these options are on the trucks you are considering. Starting in 2012, Nissan added a rearview camera and dual-zone auto climate control. Six different Frontier trims are available for 2014 and didn't change from 2013. Thy are the S, SV-I4, SV, Desert Runner, PRO-4X and the SL. The PRO-4X is an off road model and the SL is the luxury option. With just those two models, no pickup truck buyers should feel left out. You have a choice of two larger cabs: the extended King Cab or the Crew Cab. All of these great selections open doors to a lot of budgets. 2013 MSRP ranged from a low of $17,990 to the high end of $33,790.

The specs on both 2013 Frontier engines show a diverse array of drivers can find a particular model that just might be appealing. 2.4L I4 engine offers a fine amount of 152 horsepower generating 5,200 RPM. The engine also comes with 5-Speed Manual Overdrive transmission. The trims with the 4.0L V6 engine offer 261 horsepower at 5,600 RPM. Two different transmissions are available with these 4.0L V6 trims,  5-Speed Manual Overdrive and 6-Speed Manual Overdrive. The acceleration on the truck is 0-60 in about 9.9 seconds, which is fine for a truck with the dimensions and weight (4,690 lbs.) of the Nissan Frontier.

The price of a new Nissan Frontier dropped in 2013, with the aim of making it more appealing to a wider base of customers. The engine was also tweaked, the weight reduced, and the aerodynamics of the exterior improved for better gas mileageas mileage.

If you want SirusXM satellite radio, you can have it in 2014 with four speakers in the SV I-4 edition. The 2014 Nissan Frontier was also ranked #3 in Compact Pickup Trucks by US News.

SAFETY

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2013 Frontier a rating of "Good," the highest score, for moderate overlap front, side impact, and roof strength in crash tests.

The safety of the vehicle is further enhanced by the inclusion of reliable features such as stability control, front seat active head restraints, and strategically placed airbags.

I saw this Nissan Frontier advertised for a great price by the original owner. A little skeptical, I got the VIN and Carfaxed it. Sure enough, original owner, no accidents or damage, all dealer serviced at regular intervals. I would always do a CARFAX check on every car I buy from now on!
