Dodge Durango

The Dodge Durango is a powerful SUV that is great for those looking for a vehicle with a lot of passenger and cargo room. It seats up to seven passengers comfortably and the third row seats can fold all the way down should you need additional space. The Dodge Durango also has enough power for towing, making this SUV an all-around great vehicle for individuals and families who need to haul campers, trailers, and recreational vehicles. Durango drivers feel like they are riding in a truck, rather than a SUV. At CARFAX, we aim to provide consumers a better understanding of the Dodge Durango by providing both standard make and model details along with proprietary CARFAX data tied to each particular vehicle.

Used Dodge Durango: In Depth

Model Overview

Production for the Durango began in 1998 and has come a long way since its inception. Back then, the model was equipped with a 5.2-liter V8 engine and delivered 230 horsepower at 4,400 rpm.

In 1999 the Durango was still offered as a four-wheel-drive vehicle, and then later, a two-wheel drive became available. It was not until 2001 that the Durango's interior got a major upgrade, in part because SUV's were beginning to transition into an American household's everyday family car. This encouraged Dodge to include new features such as dual-zone climate control and premium audio systems.

The 2014 Durango is the most current model year available. This SUV was built to embody superior performance and design and is fully loaded with innovative technology including a brand-new smart steering wheel that has all of the touch-button controls you could possibly want, the Uconnect system, mission control, and the revolutionary electronic rotary shift knob.

The Durango beautifully pairs technology with luxury and comfort. The interior is wrapped in plush cloth seats, with optional Nappa leather-trimming available. With more than 50 different seating configurations, the interior allows for seating for up to seven passengers. With the new designs, it is clear that Dodge is making the effort to make the Durango a versatile SUV that can accommodate families.
