The 2014 Dodge Avenger is similar to the 2013 model and has been tweaked each year with new options since the 2011 redesign. The 2014 Dodge Avenger comes in three models: SE, SXT, and R/T. While the exterior redesigns are minimal, there are plenty of optional features and accessories that allow consumers to choose a vehicle that meets their specific needs.
The entry-level SE is available in Blacktop and Rallye packages, but if you are looking for a standard vehicle with a sport performance, the standard package may appeal to you. Features include Ring of Fire LED taillamps, remote keyless entry, speed control, 60/40 split rear seating, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, and Uconnect with AM/FM radio, a CD player, and an MP3 player. The SE is also fitted with power windows, door locks, and mirrors, plus soft-touch surfaces with accent stitching.
A step up from the SE is the SXT, which comes with a six-speed automatic transmission and a slightly elevated mpg of 31 highway. Most of the upgrades on this trim level are inside the vehicle, including a power driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a SiriusXM satellite radio, and an upgraded Uconnect system that includes voice command with Bluetooth.
R/T, the highest trim level, comes with the same standard features as the SXT, but with a 3.6-liter Pentastart V-6 engine that delivers 283 horsepower and a sport-tuned suspension for a more powerful ride. The exterior has a sporty treatment, with a body-colored grille and rear spoiler, black headlamp bezels, and 18-inch Rallye aluminum wheels. Inside, heated seats have leather bolsters and red accent stitching.
If you are looking for a vehicle with serious attitude, consider a model with the Blacktop package (available with the SE and SXT). It features a body-colored spoiler, leather-trimmed seats, gloss black 18-inch aluminum wheels, a gloss black grille, and black headlight bezels. Additional package options include the Cold Weather Group (SXT), the Rallye Appearance Group (available with the SE and the SXT), the Smoker’s Group (available with all models), and the Sun/Sound Group (availalbe with the SXT and the R/T).
