USED CHEVROLET MALIBU OWNER REVIEWS

2008 Chevrolet Malibu

Style, power, quiet. Use for pleasure & work.. The 3.6 V6 is powerful & decent gas mileage. Car is very smooth & comfortable. Advice - be careful around the 70 - 78k mark. The 6spd auto trans needed to be replaced due to a known issue with 3rd gear / reverse wave plate.. Just out of warranty and cost me $2500!

MODEL OVERVIEW

The Chevy Malibu was built on a new platform in 2008 to be a more stylish and modern car than its predecessors, which were classifed by Chevy as "classic" Malibus.

The newer Chevrolet Malibu (2008-present) is a great option as fuel-efficent 4-door sedan for families. Its safety features include 10 air bags and a crash-resistant frame. For the commuter, the Malibu provides great gas mileage, and for the driver who wants to enjoy a luxury ride at an affordable price, the Malibu has a number of options for connectivity, entertainment, and driver-assistance.

For 2014, even the most basic model, the LS, has steering wheel mounted controls for both the audio system and cruise control, 2-way power vertical seat adjuster, 16 inch alloy wheels, and Bluetooth wireless technology for select smart phones. The LS also has an attractive front grille with chrome highlights, OnStar Directions and Connections, and a Driver Information Center.

If you are looking for something with a little more kick but really enjoy the look, feel, and price of the Chevrolet Malibu, consider spending a little bit more on the upgraded version. The 2LTZ is the higher end Malibu model and has more features and options. It has a 6-speed automatic transmission, heated leather-appointed front seats for those cold winter mornings, an auto dimming inside rearview mirror, LED tail lights, fancy 18-inch machine spoke aluminum wheels, a sunroof for those warm summer days, and a standard 2.0L turbo-charged 4-cylinder engine.

Looking for a hybrid to really save some money on fuel? The Chevrolet Malibu Eco has an estimated mpg of 37 on the highway and boasts of being able to go 560 highway miles on each tank of gas. It has a standard ECOTECH 2.4-liter direct injection 4-cylinder engine that works hand in hand with eAssist to save on gas. It can switch from gas to the use of an ion lithium battery with very little effort. The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu Eco has a starting price of $25,845.

SAFETY

The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu was the first mid-sized car to earn a 5 Star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The 2014 Malibu has 10 air bags placed strategically around the vehicle to prevent injuries during an impact. It also uses the StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System, so that your ride is smooth and safe. The 2011 and 2012 Chevrolet Malibu were awarded the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick status.
