I was looking for a 2005 Acura TSX, and I found two of them. The cars were identical, but they were from two different dealerships and were both two different prices. I was prepared to buy the car with the lower price, but I decided to buy CARFAX Reports for both of them, just in case. Turns out the car I was prepared to buy had been in a flood and had a salvaged title. Needless to say, I purchased the other vehicle.
We were about to go see a Volkswagen Passat we had been looking at online. We ran a CARFAX Report on it only to discover that he had only owned the car for a month and the car had been written off as a total loss due to flooding. We were able to call the man back and cancel the meeting. CARFAX saved us from what could have been a very costly mistake.

I was in the market for a used truck. I found exactly what I was looking for and decided to go look at it. The truck was a 2009 Ford F150 king cab. It looked great and had all the features I wanted. It only had 12,000 miles and was priced well below book. The car had a salvage title as it had been in a front end wreck, and the owner told me that everything had been fixed properly. My brother builds cars, so I asked him to inspect the truck. He said he thought it had been in a flood because the ABS brake light would not go off. This was an indication of electrical problems that were probably caused by flood damage. After getting the CARFAX report I found that it had actually been in TWO floods. Thanks for the heads up!
I was involved in a car accident a few weeks back and my Honda Civic got totaled. Thankfully no one was injured. However, as a college student with a busy schedule I needed to find a replacement vehicle within a week, as my insurance company had given me a rental car for short-term use. I was able to use CARFAX to accurately verify the four cars I was looking into and helped me finalize a decision quickly and with confidence. I avoided falling for a car with a lot of maintenance issues that the owner didn’t cover. Now I’m happily driving a 2003 Audi A4!
I was looking to purchase a small, economical vehicle. I sifted through a lot of different choices, but a lot of them looked too good to be true. I got serious about one, and went to go look at it. Everything looked great, but to be sure I ran a CARFAX report. It turns out the car had been totaled. I continued my search, and ended up finding a Ford Focus that wasn’t as physically clean as the other car, but the CARFAX was perfect. I bought the car without a moment of hesitation, and it has been running great for me!
I had a 2005 Hyundai Tucson that I loved, and took very good care of. Unfortunately it was in an accident and got completely totaled. When I started looking for a new car, I knew I wanted another Tuscon. I bought the 5 CARFAX Package, and ran a CARFAX on each of my top 5 picks. One car stood out above the rest, with information on every oil change it had had over the last 6 years, and it had its timing belt replaced. I bought it a few days later and love it even more than the first Tuscon!
