A Massachusetts inspection checks the following components:
Beginning Oct 1, 2008 all 1996 and newer vehicles registered in Massachusetts are required to have a safety inspection and emissions test every year. New vehicles are exempt from an emissions test during the first year on the road with the same owner, but are subject to a safety inspection and emissions test when they are sold to subsequent owners. |
